As the warm weather approaches, Girls of Glam starts getting bookings for more corporate events. While we are well known for being great models, Girls of Glam is also very well known for working corporate events as well. As we begin getting more requests to host corporate events, we thought we would treat you all to some information about staffing Girls of Glam for these types of events.

Many times a company, business, or big corporation will hold an event that requires some extra hands - whether it's serving, bar tending, hosting, or just making sure everyone is having a great time. We are so pleased to have a handful of girls and guys who are trained well for professional events. This includs bartending and serving – all are Smart Serves certified, and hosting among many others. We have a full staff of professional models that are very experienced and enjoy working at these types of events.

There are a lot of benefits of having models from Girls of Glam at your event. We ensure that your guests are treated professionally, and we provide a friendly and social atmosphere to get things going. Each of our models are trained to work at corporate events and have past experience working at them as well. Submitting Photos for Jobs with Girls of Glam: The Do's and Don't's

We get lots of girls who want to be a part of the Girls of Glam roster. Since the requirement to apply is to send us 3 photos of yourself, we review a lot of photos of girls. However, the stakes tend to be high, and when it comes down to choosing a model to be a part of our team, we appreciate professional photos the most.

The bottom line is: if you want more jobs, make sure you take the time to get some professional photos done.

Here are the reasons why self-portraits or photos taken by someone who is not a professional photographer is not a good way to apply for a modelling job:

• Using a regular digital camera will not capture the best lighting - which in turn makes skin and facial features seem bland or awkward.
• Taking a photo of yourself in the washroom is unprofessional, and the backdrop...let's be serious - of all the places to take a picture of yourself the bathtub and toilet are not pleasant, and distracting.
• Professional photographers can help you with poses that are flattering for your body and can even make you appear thinner. If you don't have someone directing you, your poses can make your body appear bigger, and also awkward.
• Employers want to hire models who are professional. Submitting a photo that you have taken yourself does not look professional at all, and makes you appear as though you have no experience.
• You may have a great camera - But when it comes down to that perfect shot you want to make sure the perfect light is hitting all your best features, you have a great expression on your face, and you are making the right pose. It's very difficult to achieve this on your own.
• The kissy face is fun when you are snapping photos with your friends, but it's not fun for an employer to have to see when they want to hire you. Especially if you are making the kissy face in the bathroom..or your messy bedroom.

If you are serious about getting into modelling, or landing jobs with Girls of Glam make sure you contact a professional photographer for some  professional photos. Before heading on Model Mayhem and posting self-portraits seek out professionals for a session. If you are on a budget, look for a new photographer just out of college trying to build their portfolio. Many of them are really good, and will photograph for a cheap price.

If it's your first photoshoot, save photos you really love - figure out what you love about them, and try mimicking the model's expression and pose. Figure out what is flattering for your body. Practise at home in the mirror. Bring clothes that are flattering - a sexy black top and a pair of jeans, or a slimming dress. Start simple!

Here are some examples:

A cute top and a pair of fitted jeans are a great start - and a smile always looks amazing!

A flattering dress that you feel comfortable in always looks great and gives you confidence.

Black is a great staple for any photoshoot. Black looks good on anyone, and creates a great shape!

Girls of Glam on Set: #1 Fan Peter Jackson feat. Karl Wolf

Girls of Glam has the opportunity to host many events, attend different functions, and take part in special bookings. We love being able to have our girls represent so many different things! Girls of Glam was especially excited when we were asked to be in the Peter Jackson feat. Karl Wolf #1 Fan music video.

As big fans of both Peter Jackson and Karl Wolf we couldn't wait to get our girls in the studio to represent two amazing Canadian artists. Girls of Glam spent the entire day (and night!) Thursday April 12th in the studio. Of course - being in a music video is not exactly grueling work....the girls had such a great time filming, getting their make-up done, and being gorgeous music video vixens!

We had the girls keep a day diary complete with photos of their day on set - and we are thrilled to be able to share it with our fans!

Allison was so charmed by the courtesy she received on set, it made her experience that much more enjoyable:

"I had an amazing experience on set at the music video.  From the moment I got there Peter Jackson and all the girls were so welcoming and we immediately started talking and taking pictures together. Peter was amazing, it was cold on set so right away he offered me his jean jacket to wear to warm up. Karl Wolf was also so humbling and so friendly and chatty with all the girls."

Even though all  girls enjoyed the company of Peter and Karl, they also took in the wonderful company of the girls. They all appreciated being given the opportunity to work with other Girls of Glam. Juilianna in particular loved the experience of meeting the Girls:

"Working with the other girls made the experience such a blast. They were all so kind, and really sweet and all looked TOTALLY HOT in their club dresses! It was my first time meeting them all and I can honestly say that they never made me feel uncomfortable - we all became friends in such a short time!"

While everyone was working so hard on set, Alicia noted that the staff made sure everyone still had a little bit of down time:

"I love being apart of photo shoots and this music video experience was no different. However, I'd have to say my favourite part of the day was just hanging out with the entire cast and crew behind the scenes. I had a great time getting to know everyone working so hard to make all aspects of the day successful. We made time to relax, laugh, pig out on pizza and watch the Jays season opener. I felt like I've known these people for so long, and I can't thank them enough for making that day such an unforgettable experience."

We are thrilled to see the girls from Girls of Glam worked really hard to help make a great music video, and also felt comfortable on set, and be appreciated for their hard work. We are so proud of our hard working, professional, and approachable girls for their fantastic work on the set of #1 Fan! We can't wait to showcase the music video on our blog!
