If you read our post getting everyone ready for the Mercedes Benz free concert, you're probably wondering what happened at the event. It was an extremely successful event and everyone in attendance appeared to be having a fantastic time - including the Girls and Guys of Girls of Glam. With the excitement of the free concert - it was one of our favourite events!
We touched base with some of our team who worked the event to see what it was like working at the Mercedes Benz B-Class Concert.
What was your role in the event:
Amanda B.: I ran the live twitter stream - moderating the tweets before they went up on multiple live stream screens around the venue.
Linzi A.: My role in the event was signing guests in as they approached the front
door, after everyone was accommodated in the venue, I help other girls
at different stations.
Shawn M.: Initially I was stationed at the candy table, making sure the table
stayed clean and the candy was being refilled. After that I rotated and
took over the grafitti wall where I monitored what people were writing
to make sure none of it was offensive. To end the night I went backstage
to make glowstick glasses to throw to the crowd and glowstick
bracelets. We went on stage and threw them to the crowd.
What was your favourite part about working the event:
Shawn M.:[ My] favorite part of the event was definitely being onstage with Chromeo throwing glowsticks out to the crowd.
What did you think about Mercedes concept of the free concert to launch the B-Class:
Linzi A.: I think this was a completely unique event for mercedes to put on to launch the new b-class, leave it to them to come up with such a great idea!
Amanda B.: The event was a fabulous idea - it connected the target audience with the product in a mutually satisfying arena where the brand could relay its key messages and engage.
What was the general feedback from the crowd:
Amanda B.: I think everyone had a really great time - from the people working it to friends of mine who attended. All of the feedback I received was really positive. There were very few negative tweets throughout the event. In general there was a real sense of gratitude from everyone who attended or played some role at the event. We got this event trending on Twitter, first in Toronto, and then in Canada! That's a lot of tweets!
Shawn M.: I think the everyone in attendance loved the event, who doesn't like a free concert and Chromeo is a big DJ.
Girls of Glam are so pleased with the outstanding efforts our staff put in at the wonderful event. Each of our staff noted they were grateful for the opportunity and had a great time working at the event - they even stated they would have for sure attended the event even if they were not working!
Thanks again to our amazing staff!!!
