We covered the auto shows…and now we’ve moved on to the home
shows! Working trade shows are a really great way to connect with consumers –
which means you need to have someone there who can professionally represent
your brand. Although we have experience working the autoshows, home shows are a
different niche.
We spoke with some of our Girls to see how they represented
themselves as an ambassador of the brand they were working for, and what
tactics they used to help engage with consumer to exceed the brand’s motive for
the show.
What was your role at this home show:
Lilly T. (Ottawa Home and Garden Show): “I represented
Re/Mac by singnig people up for their Choose & Win contest."
Leyla: (Toronto Home Show) “My role was the enter and exit
iPad activiations for Re/Max and Henry of Pelham.”
Genevieve K. (The National Home Show in Toronto): “ I
worked within the RE/MAX VIP booth, greeting guests and encouraging them to
enter the Choose & Win Contest”
Michelle M. “I worked at the Hamilton Home show and the
National Home Show in Toronto”
What was unique about
your role?
Lilly: “I think that being able to talk to such a huge
variety of people was the most unique thing about my role. Other booths only
spoke to people who showed interest in them but I spoke to everyone.”
Leyla: “My role was
unique because I had the opportunity to greet and have conversation with a
diverse population.”
Genevieve: “Everyone within the VIP booth was relaxed,
allowing guests to kick back and relax, sample some wine, enter the contest,
and ask any questions they might have about the show or RE/MAX. I think what
was great about my role was that I felt it was most important to make guests
feel welcome and from this, they wanted to enter the contest. By providing an
environment that guests could be themselves (and not be poked or prodded by
event staff), they were at ease and could therefore enjoy themselves more”
Michelle: “What was unique about my role at the National Home
Show was the special experience that we were able to create for VIP visitors.
Having a red carpet, complimentary wine tasting and staff greeting visitors at
the entrance and exit of the booth set us apart for other venders at the show
and created a unique experience for the visitors at the RE/MAX VIP Lounge. My
role was Kiosk staff and entrance and exit staff making sure that visitors
where welcomed when entering the booth and helped to create a memorable
experience within the booth.”
What Was Your
Favorite Part about representing this Brand:
Michelle: “My favorite part about representing this brand
was the overall positive responses from visitors entering the booth, VIP
visitors were very happy with the brand and the over all experiences within the
booth. This was my favorite part to see how happy visitors were with their
booth experience”
Genevieve: “Everyone visiting the VIP booth seemed to be a
fan of RE/MAX, which in itself makes representing such a brand great.
Representing a brand that's already reputable really makes our job that much
easier.”
Lilly: “I'm really interested in real estate so while I
signed people up for the contest, I discussed topics such as mortgages,
downsizing, etc etc. it was really interesting.”
What Did You Do To
Make Yourself a Part of This Brand?
Heather C. (Toronto Home Show): “I got myself very familiar
with the home show since Remax was a huge sponsor. For example, if
someone did not want to enter the contest I was sure to inform them about the
VIP Remax booth.”
Michelle: “To mesh myself with the brand and become part of
the brand I research the brand prior to the shift, to help prepared before my
shift I made sure I read over my notes and became knowledgeable about the brand
and my role and duties before attending the shift.”
Genevieve: “I made sure to follow the lead of the rest of
the RE/MAX staff, and was personable, friendly, and approachable to guests. I
made sure to make all guests feel welcome.”
At Girls of Glam we always ensure our staff our prepared and
knowledgeable about the brand they are representing. It is important to us that
when they are representing a brand they become a part of it, so that the
consumer would not know they are part of a staffing agency. It is our goal for
our staff to understand that they are not only working for Girls of Glam, but
they are also working for another brand – and it is imperative that they become
part of that community.
Our girls did an outstanding job at the home shows!
