Girls of Glam at the 2013 Montreal Auto Show

Last week Girls of Glam had the opportunity to work at the Montreal Auto Show. It was a great experience. Since its trade show season, we thought we would give our fans some insight into what it's like working at a trade show, and more specifically auto shows. Generally when people think of staffing for auto shows, they think of scantily clad girls posing in front of cars. We are about to prove that point wrong.

We spoke to some of our models who worked at the show to talk about their experience. Representing two separate brands at the show, we are able to show you how we represent different brands accordingly:

What was your role at the event, and who were you representing?

Rhiannon M.: I was representing Auto Trader/Auto Hebdo at the auto show, and I was
responsible for engaging people in a professional manner and informing
them about how the application works. I had to teach them how to play
the game auto pursuit on the iPad's application, where you have to
find two cars that are shown at random using the specs listed next to
the photos in the fastest time possible, while educating them about
the website and application and its simplicity.

Naiia L: I was an ambassador representing Mercedes at the 2013 Montreal Auto Show. As a BA (brand ambassador), my responsibilities included providing basic information on the vehicles & introducing them to our informational/gift card.

What did you like most about your role:

Naiia (Mercedes) :
After a week of working this particular event, all of us girls - who were originally non-car-enthusiasts - ended-up becoming well-versed in car knowledge, so it was pretty educational.

Julie A. (AutoHEBDO): It's enjoyable to be able to help people facilitate their lives by introducing them to an app that's convenient and easy to use.

Lotte G ( AutoHEBDO):
I liked being able to play an interactive game with the people, and while the booth wasn't too busy organize separate mini races between friends by having them play at the same time on different iPads.

How has working other GOG events helped you with this event:

Rhiannon M.: It helped me learn new materials and become more comfortable with them
at a faster pace. Engaging and interacting with all different types of
people in multiple situations smoothly.

Niia: It prepares you for all types of people and it keeps you quick on your toes. You always have to be ready to answer questions or deal with situations that you might not be accustomed to.

Tea M. (Mercedes) : Being outgoing and engaging with everyone was good motivation I think overall as a team staying positive helped us deal with any rejections we had through the show.

What did you find to be the most rewarding / fun part of working at the auto show?

Tea M.: Team work was the greatest pay off. Meeting and working with the other girls was a very pleasant experience, everyone was extremely professional.

Julie A.: Being able to meet all sorts of new people. I was very fortunate to be with an awesome, respectable and solid team. We all worked very well together, and I look forward to working with them again in the future.

Rhiannon M.: All of the knowledge that I acquired during the show.

Niia: Watching the salesmen work their magic; it was like observing a case study unfold and was actually quite fascinating. You can see the different tactics used and why certain individuals are considered stronger than others.

Having the opportunity to represent two brands at the Auto Show was really rewarding for Girls of Glam. We gained the experience of how we can tailor our roles to specific brands, and prove that we are not a cookie cutter agency. All of our models take the time to represent each brand accordinly, and take the time to learn more about them.

We are so proud of our models and the hard work they did last week!

Staffing At Trade Shows

It's trade-season! You will start to notice a ton of trade shows come about over the next few months, and with trade shows comes the need for specialized staff and extra hands. Girls of Glam recognize this need, and we have a handful of men and women who are experienced in trade show staffing for various industries.

Why Should You Outsource Staff for Trade Shows

Aside from the fact that trade shows are generally on weekends and regular staff would prefer not to work them, Girls of Glam are specialized in events like this, which means we can provide the energy, experience, and knowledge that you need to represent your brand.

Energy is key. Girls of Glam provide staff who WANT to work at these events. Our staff loves working at events, which means the energy we bring to a trade show is positive and outgoing, and not to mention attractive. No one will shuffle by your brand, we will attract people! In a warehouse full of industry competitors, you need that extra something to attract people, and make people want to come and see you. This is where we come in!

Girls of Glam are proud that we can provide experience to our clients. We never provide staff who are not armed with the qualifications and experience you are looking for. We recognize that trade shows act as business development and a first impression for your brand, and we want to ensure we act as a positive first impression. All the staff we provide have been trained, and have experience working trade shows. This means they know exactly what to do at the show, and how to represent you in a positive and professional manner. Our staff adapt to your brand's concept.

When you are searching for staff to represent you at a trade show contact Girls of Glam! We are always excited to be able to provide exceptional staffing services when it comes to trade shows. If there are very specific particulars to staffing - you can provide us any information and we will ensure our staff is knowledgeable of your brand, what you represent, and your motive at the show. Our goal is to provide staff that can adapt to your brand, and appear as though they are full time staff!

Girls of Glam Give Advice on Dating

Our job is to represent some of the most prominent and well known companies in North America - and we love doing that! But we were extra excited when we were approached by popular website The Man Sphere to do a Q&A about dating. CEO of Girls of Glam, Jennifer, and three other models dished out their experiences with dating.

Since Girls of Glam are host to many beautiful models, what better women to ask about dating experiences! This feature has great insights, and good laughs. With questions like, "Have you ever been the victim of a pickup crash and burn?" and "What's a guy gotta do to hold onto you?" guys will get good advice from real girls, and girls will get a good laugh reading the answers.

So who were the fabulous ladies sitting in the hot seat?

Clara-Ann R., Tamara J., Hayley M., and of course CEO Jennifer.

So why were we chosen to be a part of this exciting and fun article? Here is an excerpt from the feature - a little teaser before you had over there for the full article:

"Event and promotional models whose stock in trade is looking awesome and being friendly, but who have to suffer all the slings and arrows of rooms full of corporate dudes in suits and car show guys in dirty jeans; mashers with cheesy pickup lines; lazy guys who don’t know how to keep a relationship interesting. Some of it we’ve covered before, but a lot of what these ladies had to say was pretty insightful.
You know, if you want to know how a helicopter works, you talk to a helicopter technician (whatever they’re called…we’d like to meet one though; that’d be cool!). So logically, if you want to know what beautiful women are interested in, you talk to beautiful women.
So, in support of our own free download project, and in order to really kick-start your understanding of the female species as you prepare for your new you in 2013, we’ve got one of the coolest features yet, just in time for the New You Issue. The Girls of Glam, telling you straight up what they think of dating, guys, and brutal pickup fails."

(Above from top: CEO Jennifer and Hayley)
(Below: Tamara and Clara)

Answering the questions was a lot of fun and brought up a lot of good...and bad memories! The models of Girls of Glam and many other women could teach men a lot when it comes to dating (and I'm sure we could learn a thing or two as well....maybe). We loved being a part of this experience - and are always willing to help out when it comes to dating advice!

Make sure you read the full article! It's worth the read!

If you would like to feature Girls of Glam in your article email us at Glam.promotion@gmail.com for more information

Girls of Glam at the Mercedes FREE Concert!

If you read our post getting everyone ready for the Mercedes Benz free concert, you're probably wondering what happened at the event. It was an extremely successful event and everyone in attendance appeared to be having a fantastic time - including the Girls and Guys of Girls of Glam. With the excitement of the free concert  - it was one of our favourite events!

We touched base with some of our team who worked the event to see what it was like working at the Mercedes Benz B-Class Concert.

What was your role in the event:

Amanda B.: I ran the live twitter stream - moderating the tweets before they went up on multiple live stream screens around the venue.

Linzi A.:  My role in the event was signing guests in as they approached the front door, after everyone was accommodated in the venue, I help other girls at different stations.

Shawn M.: Initially I was stationed at the candy table, making sure the table stayed clean and the candy was being refilled. After that I rotated and took over the grafitti wall where I monitored what people were writing to make sure none of it was offensive. To end the night I went backstage to make glowstick glasses to throw to the crowd and glowstick bracelets. We went on stage and threw them to the crowd.

What was your favourite part about working the event:

Shawn M.:[ My] favorite part of the event was definitely being onstage with Chromeo throwing glowsticks out to the crowd.

What did you think about Mercedes concept of the free concert to launch the B-Class:

Linzi A.: I think this was a completely unique event for mercedes to put on to launch the new b-class, leave it to them to come up with such a great idea!

Amanda B.: The event was a fabulous idea - it connected the target audience with the product in a mutually satisfying arena where the brand could relay its key messages and engage.

What was the general feedback from the crowd:

Amanda B.: I think everyone had a really great time - from the people working it to friends of mine who attended. All of the feedback I received was really positive. There were very few negative tweets throughout the event. In general there was a real sense of gratitude from everyone who attended or played some role at the event. We got this event trending on Twitter, first in Toronto, and then in Canada! That's a lot of tweets!

Shawn M.:  I think the everyone in attendance loved the event, who doesn't like a free concert and Chromeo is a big DJ.

Girls of Glam are so pleased with the outstanding efforts our staff put in at the wonderful event. Each of our staff noted they were grateful for the opportunity and had a great time working at the event - they even stated they would have for sure attended the event even if they were not working!

Thanks again to our amazing staff!!!
